Employment at Her Space LA

LMFT Jobs Los Angeles

Hiring Licensed & Associate Therapists

Her Space Therapy LA is growing, and we’re looking for a therapist who wants to do more than simply build a caseload. We’re looking for someone who wants to become an exceptional clinician in the areas of trauma and perinatal mental health while being part of a collaborative practice that values depth, ongoing learning, and authentic clinical connection.

Our practice primarily serves women, mothers, birthing people, and their partners, with a strong focus on trauma, reproductive and perinatal mental health, and the many transitions surrounding pregnancy, birth, loss, and parenthood.

We are looking for a licensed or pre-licensed therapist who has a solid clinical foundation, meaningful experience with trauma and/or the perinatal population, and a genuine desire to continue developing advanced clinical skills. This position will be for hybrid in-person and virtual therapy.

A note about training: One of the things that makes Her Space different is that we are intentionally building a team of clinicians who share a strong foundation in trauma and perinatal mental health. We don’t expect every clinician to practice exactly the same way. We want you to develop your own clinical voice, style, strengths, and additional areas of specialty.

At the same time, everyone on our team is expected to become highly knowledgeable in the core approaches and areas of clinical work that are central to Her Space. That means ongoing training is a significant part of this position.

In addition to basic clinical supervision, you should expect substantial continued training in areas such as trauma treatment, parts work, somatic therapy, trauma reprocessing, perinatal mental health, neurodivergent affirming care and other approaches used throughout the practice.

If you are someone who loves learning, wants to become highly skilled rather than simply checking the boxes for continuing education, and gets excited about developing as a therapist over time, you’ll likely thrive here.

Employment Information

The right person will have:

·      An LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, AMFT, or APCC credential in California.

·      For associates: active registration with the appropriate California licensing board.

·      A solid foundation of clinical experience. We welcome newly registered or licensed clinicians, but we are not looking for someone who is brand new to clinical work with individual adult clients. You should have enough direct clinical experience to feel comfortable conducting sessions independently, building a therapeutic relationship, assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, managing a caseload, and navigating the day-to-day responsibilities of clinical work.

·      Experience working with trauma and/or the perinatal population.

·      Strong interest in developing a specialty in trauma and perinatal mental health.

·      Training and/or experience in trauma-focused approaches.

·      EMDR training is strongly preferred, whether already completed or currently in progress.

·      Training or experience in somatic therapy, Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), Internal Family Systems/parts work, or another comparable trauma-focused approach is also highly valued. Knowledge of neurodivergent affirming care is also of high value.

·      A willingness to learn and integrate parts work, somatic approaches, and trauma reprocessing into their clinical practice.

·      Strong clinical judgment, self-awareness, curiosity, and openness to feedback.

·      A genuine interest in continuing education and developing as a clinician.

·      The ability to complete clinical documentation within 48 hours.

·      Availability to provide in-person therapy in Pasadena at least two days per week.

·      Availability for one evening or weekend day/block per week.

·      The ability and desire to maintain a caseload of at least 15 clients per week, with approximately 20 clients/week being our preferred full caseload.

·      A desire to build a sustainable caseload without sacrificing clinical quality or personal wellbeing.

What You’ll Do

Your primary responsibility will be providing high-quality individual psychotherapy to clients whose needs and interests align with your clinical strengths.

You will:

·      Maintain a caseload of approximately 15–20 clients per week, with room to grow beyond 20 when clinically appropriate and sustainable.

·      Provide both in-person and telehealth therapy, with a minimum of two days of in-person availability each week.

·      Work one evening or weekend block each week.

·      Provide trauma-informed, relational, and individualized care.

·      Continue developing competency in parts work, somatic therapy, and trauma reprocessing.

·      Develop expertise in perinatal mental health and related reproductive and maternal mental health concerns.

·      Participate in regular supervision and team consultation.

·      Participate in team meetings and ongoing practice training.

·      Complete documentation within 48 hours.

·      Contribute to a collaborative practice environment.

·      Engage in occasional blogging, networking, community outreach, and other professional activities that support the growth of the practice.

·      For licensed clinicians in particular, become an active voice and representative of Her Space in the community and participate in building professional referral relationships.

You may also bring additional areas of specialty to the practice. We value clinicians who have their own interests and expertise and are excited to expand what our team can offer.

Supervision & Clinical Support

Pre-licensed clinicians receive weekly triadic supervision, along with ongoing training and support.

Licensed clinicians will participate in regular peer consultation, case consultation, and team-based clinical support.

We believe good therapists need support too. Our goal is to create an environment where clinicians can work independently while still having a team they can turn to for thoughtful consultation, collaboration, and continued growth.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a W-2 employment model with compensation designed to recognize both clinical work and the work required to support good clinical care.

·      Therapy compensation is 45% of the client session fee. 40% for an introductory period until caseload builds.

·      Client fees currently range from approximately $175–$275 per session, depending on licensure and experience.

·      Required non-client work is compensated at $20/hour, including administrative work and other necessary work outside of client sessions.

·      Required meetings, training, supervision, and other paid practice responsibilities are compensated rather than expected to happen unpaid.

·      Paid sick time.

·      A continuing education budget to support ongoing professional development.

·      Compensation increases with licensure, experience, and additional specialized training.

·      The practice provides malpractice insurance; clinicians are also expected to maintain their own individual malpractice coverage.

·      Furnished private office space in Pasadena.

·      SimplePractice EHR. Spruce Health.
