I’m so glad you’re here
Trauma Specialist and Certified Perinatal Therapist Los Angeles
About Cyla Fisk
Hi! I’m Cyla (She/Her), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the owner of Her Space Therapy Los Angeles. I’m also a mom to two little ones and a fur baby. I enjoy movement, reading, connecting with others, spending time in nature, and traveling to new places.
After earning my MA in Clinical Psychology, I dedicated much of my training to becoming an expert in trauma treatment. My own experiences with difficult pregnancies, postpartum depression and anxiety, major identity shifts in motherhood, and navigating my son’s traumatic medical start deepened my passion for supporting women during the perinatal period. As a late-identified autistic and neurodivergent woman, I also understand how deeply our brains, identities, and lived experiences shape the way we move through the world and relationships.
I bring both professional expertise and personal understanding into my work, and I hope to help you feel supported, understood, and empowered in this season of your life.
Here is some more about me and my story featured in Voyage LA Magazine, Canvas Rebel, and Bold Journey.
You are not a mess, you are a feeling person in a messy world.

Clinical Focus
I specialize in working with women and parents navigating the complex intersections of identity, trauma, neurodivergence, and major life transitions. Many of my clients are in the perinatal period — pregnancy, postpartum, fertility journeys, loss, or early parenting — or are high-functioning professionals and creatives grappling with anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, masking, and self-doubt beneath the surface. I also work with neurodivergent women, including those who are late-identified autistic or ADHD, who are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and more sustainable ways of moving through the world. I provide holistic, trauma-informed therapy to support nervous system regulation, deepen self-understanding, and foster long-term healing and integration.
I’m particularly passionate about supporting clients through transitions that shake our foundations — whether that’s becoming a parent, losing a child, changing careers, or reckoning with long-held patterns rooted in early attachment wounds. I also work extensively with individuals struggling with perfectionism, emotional reactivity, chronic overwhelm, or a persistent sense of “not enough.”
I approach therapy as both an art and a science. Rooted in relational and psychodynamic principles, my work is also deeply informed by somatic and parts-based modalities, including the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), EMDR (AF-EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and ego state work. I integrate these frameworks in a client-centered, intuitive, and creative way — tailoring our work to your unique needs and pacing.
You can expect compassion, presence, and also a willingness to gently challenge what no longer serves you. I believe in your capacity to grow, and I hold space for the complexity of that process — meeting you exactly where you are while helping you move toward where you want to be.

What People Are Saying
Cyla helped me feel safe from the beginning, so that we can talk about anything. I have always tried to understand myself better, but with Cyla I have made progress I hadn't been able to make on my own. She observes in me assumptions and patterns that I take for granted, so I would not even know to ask for help with them. Now I have her help recognizing them, and untangling what I want to keep and what I want to change.

“Cyla is a deep-thinking, deep-feeling guide for sensitive and empathic women going through difficult transitions in life. She's highly attuned and aware of people around her, and able to hold remarkable space for whatever someone is feeling. You will never feel rushed or judged by her. I highly recommend her!”
— Laurel Roberts-Meese, LMFT
“Before we met I had been looking for someone like Cyla for a long time. She has put herself through extensive training and education to work with trauma. I would describe her as compassionate, creative, kind, and empowered. Someone who knows how to use her experiences in life to help others who are struggling. I'm glad she took the time to build trust with me. I always felt safe around her. She made an incredible difference in my life and I'm more in touch with the person I am and want to be going forward. I've made a lot of tangible changes inside and out as a result of that. I'm extremely proud of the work we did together during sessions. The feeling that comes to mind when I think of our time together is that of gratefulness for working with someone as talented as her.”
